Oh, the geoengineering could be done.

When you think about this climate mess, it really was geoengineering that created the problems.

Unfortunately, the expense of orbital fields of sunlight filters or partial mirrors would be a large undertaking.

It would have to be financed and done by the same wonderful people who are fighting to keep the right to burn fossil fuels and run extractive economies.

Time to put our heads between our knees and kiss our asses goodbye.

Well, not quite everyone, but as you've noted, 10% of humanity is already facing hunger right now.

And things haven't even gotten that bad quite yet.
