This Brief Article is Pure Opinion. No Facts Will Be Presented
My thoughts come from my overheated imagination, but still, I’ve reached some shocking conclusions that feel exactly right. Because . . . do oligarchs change their spots, or their habits, ‘habits’ like drilling and burning oil and gas? Are they still disdainful of the common, non-wealthy man, woman?
I have to thank The Guardian and its New Zealand readers for bringing me to this point, such as it is.
New Zealanders rank climate change above Covid this election
One month out from New Zealand's general election and the major parties are on the campaign trail, donning high-vis…
You see, Covid-19 has never made sense as a major disaster threatening humanity itself. Even if it had killed a thousand million people (that’s a way of saying one billion), that could be considered a good, natural adjustment to the obscene population overshoot of 7.8 billion people. If it really did eventually kill one billion people, that would still leave 6.8 billion on Earth, which would still be a population overshoot. [Authors note: I’m not unsympathetic to the afflicted — I had Covid-19 in January, and stopped breathing twice . . . so yeah, I know — it’s unpleasant.] Anyway . . . death from starvation, caused by climatic overheating, is already killing millions of people. That’s really not pure opinion, by the way.
Considering the nature and nationalities of the powerful media and the politicians that have kept people stirred-up yet locked-down over this bug, well, these same people are the white, wealthy and powerful sorts that for god’s sake don’t want people to focus on the really big elephant in the room . . . Oil! It’s money pumped from the ground and causing a climate crisis that is already killing people on a grand scale. Are these wealthy oligarchs still good people at heart? Would they try to divert attention and resources from climate mitigation (which partly, importantly, demands less burning of fossil fuels)? Because no, these are not good-hearted people. They have their luxury bunkers all set up, with A.I. robots — not common humans — for slaves. For kicks they are also looking for a habitable planet — there’s a cosmic joke!
