Dear Writers — Not Readers

I live in Panama. I don’t plan to leave. And I don’t think I’ll be joining the Medium Partner Plan. I don’t even care, and you might already be a member.

I’m not going to stop writing, but it doesn’t have to be in my name. It doesn’t even have to be my exact writing. I don’t have time in my ‘budget’ for pretty formats. My writing tends to be short and staccato — mostly because readers don’t want to read scientific treatises. But a middle ground is best; I can do that — especially with a little co-writing.

I’ve Come to Realize — I Need You

For every hour I write, I can account for eight or eighty hours spent reading, researching, and keeping track with emails to myself and writing in my journals. I have several hundred articles ready to transcribe into articles — now that I have fiber optic internet and an adequate HP computer.

But how many more years do I have on this planet? Of course that’s unknown . . . but it’d be a shame to waste some of these! Like My Friend Pete Raines, the Animal Talker. It’s a sweet story.

My scientific career is outta sight! I have awards and scholarships dating back to 1971. They don’t make them anymore, not like me and some of my friends. Right now, today, I could pass challenge exams in a wide range of university subjects and add to my CV. Won’t of course, unless it’s on a bet. But I sure used to do it!

I Need You; Maybe You Need Me Too . . .
